I recently accompanied David to the wedding of his friend. He has quite a few of these formal functions so I have to make sure I have the appropriate outfits. The great thing is dressing up for a formal event doesn’t have to be expensive. All you need is to have the patience to scavenge and an eye to spot the gem in the pile. That’s exactly what I did for my outfit last Saturday: a P600 red lace dress from Green Hills.
To accompany my dress, I wore a pearl necklace (pearls can make anything look a little more classy), crystal bracelet (also from Green Hills), a Louis Vuitton hand bag (which was a gift from years ago), beige open toe heels, and the watch I wear everywhere (which was also a gift).
You don’t need to have expensive accessories to make an outfit like this work. In fact, there were many other accessories in Green Hills that could substitute for pearls and a watch. Even the hand bag can be any brand but I suggest a smaller handbag that goes with your color scheme.
Outfits don’t have to be expensive to be elegant. Focus on being authentic, clean, and achieving fit.
