I’ve recently had a lot of girls approach me with various problems (not sure why as i’m not the expert but am happy to try my best to help). With various ‘real life’ struggles, relationships, health, politics, and was reminded how everyday struggles are so real and even so common. The heaviness of the following words can resemble how people feel during these times. Yet with a newly learned perspective, with the right armor, fighting the right way, we can win each battle that comes our way and even enjoy the process.

Everyday Battles

It’s hard to be pushed towards breaking certain rules just to be able to survive in a corrupt ego driven world.

It’s hard not knowing where all our efforts will bring us in this world, or if they will pay off, not knowing what tomorrow brings.

It’s hard living in self absorbed world, feeling trapped between the millions of comparisons and catty looks trying to boost their own ego by putting others down.

It’s hard dabbling in superficial talk with someone you’d like to know much deeper. With someone who you’ve developed a relationship with yet when a lot of the relations seem to be missing.

It’s hard when someone is caught up in their own thoughts their own world that they don’t even realize they are not listening to you.

It’s hard when the biggest problems in your life, the things you need to talk about the most are the things that are given no time, brushed off and under the rug.

It’s hard when you start to talk about your day the attention of the other drifts, distracted by iPhones, gadgets, other people, other things. It’s hard to feel not important.

It’s hard when the only details of your day come from volunteered sharing. Never to be asked about the things you encountered that day, who you met with, how you felt. It’s hard feeling lonely.

It’s hard knowing the person you want to share the most with has a hard time listening or even pretending to be interested in what’s being said.

It’s hard dealing with sickness and realizing how short life is, how much we take for granted, how precious it is to simply be able to sit and admire a view, the clouds, a sunset, and hope to have more days like that.

Enjoying the Process

Life is hard in so many ways but impossible without God. Its all very well to survive, yet something entirely different to live fighting for a real purpose, with strong deep and meaningful relationships. To be caught by a loving hand when your about to fall and not made to feel guilty about your actions. To be forgiven many times over for our imperfect lives. To be shared the wisest words in order to give us the best possible lives, not to make the wise man look great. God gives over and over without taking. He wants our whole hearts, to know our every move hoping it’s down a bright path. He wants the very best for us including the best challenges that help us grow (challenges are some of our greatest blessings). He wants us to give the best to the people he blesses us with in our lives. He wants us to notice them in good and bad times and continuously reach out a helping hand when we have nothing to gain. He wants us to trust him through health and through sickness and to be thankful during all circumstance, to choose him everyday, to choose joy regardless of what we have or don’t have.

Choosing the Right Armor

Some of our greatest difficulties in life are from relationships with others, yet when we have the best relationship with Him first, only then do we learn how to relate to others. We can deal with imperfections, we can deal with less than ideal we can deal with all things through Christ who strengthens us when we seek our deepest relationship with him. The world can be an impossible place at times, but even impossible is possible with Him.

Everyday struggles are real yet those struggles become our greatest victories. We can battle the pain of the world on our own, or we can choose joy everyday regardless of what the world brings, and share that joy with others. God didn’t create us to just survive, but to make our lives matter the most by doing things that matter. To enjoy the roller coaster ride even with it’s unexpected turns. To see the hidden blessings in inconvenience, to see the delight in patience, love and giving.

Being brave and even enjoying the battle can be easy when we choose the strongest armer to fight our battles. When we choose the only battle that promises victory.

Ephesians 6:10-18
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people
